145.110 (-) (pl 131.8) W4PCN is located in Kill Devil Hills near the KDH fire dept (7 mile post). This machine provides good coverage for Duck, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Manteo, S. Nags Head and the beaches on the Outer Banks. The pl tone is PL 131.8. Many of the local club memebers monitor this machine and you can get local information here.

442.850 (+) (pl 131.8) W4PCN is located on the Mamie, NC radio/tv tower, in Currituck county, and just 8 miles north of Kitty Hawk on rt 158/168 at 400'. It easily covers Corolla to Nags Head and as far north as the state line. This repeater went on the air in Nov 2005. Pictures


146.940 (-) (pl 131.8) W4PCN great coverage from Nags Head to Corolla.  Located on the Mamie 1000' radio 104fm tower along with the uhf 442.850 they share the antenna at the 400' level. It is 8 miles north of the OBX on rt 158 and it easily covers from the NC/VA state line down past Oregon Inlet. This repeater moved from the Bodie Lighthouse tower to this location March 2006. 145.290 (-) (pl 131.8) K4OBX Devil Hills south past Rodanthe. Located on the tower near Bodie Lighthouse this repeater can be linked into the Hatteras area repeaters (listed below). Pictures

This repeater will be linked to the Columbia, NC and Hatteras repeaters for nets and for coastal emergencies.

This is the main area repeater from Salvo to Hatteras to Ocracoke. Many local repeaters are linked into this repeater.

 

146.625 (-)(PL 131.8) K4USB is located in Buxton.
There has been talk that this repeater will soon have Echolink capabilities. Check back for more on this. OBRA recently donated this machine to the Fessenden Amateur Radio Society.

This machines are located 35 miles west of the Outer Banks in Columbia, NC but since they are on a 1200' TV tower
they easily cover the largest area of all repeaters in this area.
You can work them from Nags Head with an HT 35 miles away with as little as 1 watt.
